During my tenure at PBSCo, a primary objective for my technical team was the complete overhaul of entire software and network infrastructures for many companies. Often, new clients would possess nearly nonexistent infrastructures, or even worse, severely neglected ones that had deteriorated over decades. This task was not only a technical challenge but also an organizational one. Designing and deploying optimal infrastructures, reinstalling entire server systems, Wi-Fi access points, and VDI racks within a matter of days required exceptional coordination, careful planning with my team, and meticulous dialogue with clients to minimize downtime. Documenting and clearly labeling cables and connections were also crucial to ensure efficient future maintenance and system scalability.
Before and after each infrastructure overhaul, conducting thorough audits was essential. These audits were critical for assessing pre-existing issues within the network and systems, such as vulnerabilities, the absence of adequate backups, and lack of resiliency. They also helped us ensure that the updated infrastructures complied with European and French regulations, including NIS2, GDPR, and Loi Abeille for exemple. This rigorous evaluation process allowed us to identify and rectify deficiencies effectively, thereby enhancing the security and compliance of the systems we revamped.
